Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a itching rash on one breast but nothing else, have tried all kinds of creams ointments etc, but nothing helps. Have annual mammograms, never gave it a thought of it being anything and as a senior, my insurance doesn t cover dermatology. Suddenly, I m concerned, but I deal with skin rash a lot over the years.
Hello dear I understand your concern Itchy rash on breast could be due to vesicular, erythematous rash, fungal infection, allergic/contact dermatitis, breast cancer. I would suggest to consult dermatologist for complete evaluation. Blood tests for breast cancer tumor marker like CA 15-3. CEA, USG scan to rule out breast cancer. Specific treatment depend on cause. For fungal infection: application of clotrimazole ointment, and oral fluconazole For vesicular and erythematous rash: application of steroid and antibiotic rash Wear pure cotton full paded bra, apply warm pad application Avoid stress, take healthy diet, do regular exercise Hope this may help you
Contact further if follow up needed Best regards Dr. Sagar
